Accommodations and Camping
Cabins

Beginning from the end of the 19th century, the territory of Réserve faunique Mastigouche was reserved for a few very select hunting and fishing clubs, whose patrons, well-to-do anglers, were housed in luxurious and very modern facilities for the time. It was in this tradition that the heritage of Mastigouche developed. Each cabin is located on the edge of a lake, has propane gas facilities (lighting, water heater, range and fridge), is equipped with everything needed to prepare and serve meals, and has a shower and toilets. Four new cabins, located on very beautiful isolated sites, are equipped with 12-volt electricity for the refrigerator and lighting; the rest of the equipment operates on propane gas. A woodstove contributes to the cozy atmosphere.

No restaurant or accommodation services are available in the reserve.
Sépaq cannot guarantee water quality, despite a considerable investment made to improve it. We therefore recommend that you bring your own supply of drinking water.

Huts and rustic shelters

Seven huts that can accommodate from 12 to 14 people and 7 rustic shelters that can accommodate from 2 to 4 people are also available for vacationing and fishing. They do not have a shower but are equipped with wooden beds with styrofoam mattresses, a lighting system, a propane camp stove, as well as a woodstove. A pit toilet is located nearby. Water must be obtained from the lake.

Camping

Camping du lac Saint-Bernard is certainly one of the nicest campground sites of the Sépaq network. The breathtaking sunsets are well worth the trip. There are 79 semi-serviced sites (washroom facility nearby) and 16 one-service sites (water). At Lac Violon and Lac Soufflet there is a group site that can accommodate approximately 20 people. Moreover, 45 primitive campsites are located near the Registration Centres and various attractions. The canoe-camping circuits also have several primitive campsites.

We strongly recommend that tent-trailers, trailers, RVs, and late arrivals take the Pins Rouges Registration Centre entrance. The roads in the reserve are gravel forest roads.
