Parc marin du Saguenay – Saint-Laurent

News

It's a unique natural environment, an admirable place where the majestic waters of the world's greatest estuary join those of Eastern Canada's longest fjord. This encounter between the St. Lawrence Estuary and the Saguenay Fjord gives rise to exceptional oceanographic phenomena and fosters biological diversity. Parc marin du Saguenay–Saint-Laurent is one of the planet's few places where you can observe a huge sea mammal from the shore-the blue whale. To experience this world as it ebbs and flows, why not spend a few days hiking through the backcountry and sleeping in huts overlooking the fjord.

Eco-Whale Alliance

The Eco-Whale Alliance, with the goal of continually improving marine observation activities to make them a model of sustainable use, has just been created. It brings together the Group for Research and Education on Marine Mammals (GREMM), marine tour businesses for whale watching in the Marine Park as well as Parks Canada and Parcs Québec, co-managers of the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park.
