For the fishing sectors, there are around thirty lakes in 5 accommodation sectors: Lac-Perdrix, Lac-Rimouski, Lac-Castor, L'érablière, and Kedgwick.

Catch and possession limits:

• Speckled trout in the lakes: 10
• Speckled trout in rivers and streams: 15
• Splake (Kedgwick sector): 2
• Lake trout: 2

Some bodies of water have more restrictive catch limits in order to preserve fishing quality or the duration of the season.

Moose hunting is limited by quota and comes with either the American plan or the European plan. The Rimouski reserve belongs to provincial hunting zone #2 and is subject to random draw. The territory is divided into 22 hunting sectors. Harvesting of males, females, and calves is allowed each year. Between the 1995 inventory and the 2001 inventory, the moose herd of the reserve doubled. The reserve is well endowed with everything that bow and crossbow hunters could hope for.

In Réserve faunique de Rimouski, white-tailed deer hunting is offered by random draw. For this activity, the territory is divided into several hunting sectors. A deer and moose hunting combo is part of the available packages. In addition, to encourage the next generation, a hunting sector is reserved for family hunting of white-tailed deer.

• October 26 to November 4, 2010 (white-tailed deer and moose combo)
• November 5 to 14, 2010 (white-tailed deer - small game - coyote hunting)

This is a form of still-hunting. It's carefully prepared and it comes with the American or European plan. Trophy hunters choose this reserve for the quality of its bear population. Average hunting success between 2003 and 2008 stood at 89%. Ask the reserve staff about it by calling 418 735-2226.

Period: May 15 to June 30, 2010

In Réserve faunique de Rimouski, hunting sectors for small game are reserved for each accommodation sector. Hunters can harvest Ruffed Grouse, Spruce Grouse, and snowshoe hare. You can also hunt migratory birds if you have a migratory game bird hunting permit in addition to a small game hunting licence.

• October 12 to 25, 2010 (with a package)
• November 5 to 14, 2010 (with a package, some sectors only)

Small game hunting is available by the day. Hunters must purchase their daily right of access on line or at the reserve for either the Sifroi Zone or the Biencourt  Zone. The species you can hunt are Ruffed Grouse, Spruce Grouse and snowshoe hare.

All lakes in accommodations sectors are suitable for canoeing. Lac Rimouski and Grand lac Kedgwick are especially good for kayaking.

In addition, all fishing and vacation packages include a rowboat for touring the lake in front of the cabin. Make sure you bring life jackets that are adequate for your children.

Several natural sites are conducive to watching wildlife on the territory of Réserve faunique de Rimouski.

Many trails make it easy to access Rivière Rimouski for wading. This is an especially delightful way to introduce children to fishing.

Package

A family package for 2 adults and 2 children under 18 is available on weekdays early July to late August.

In addition, children under 18 are lodged for free in relation to the number of adults at the time of reservation, based on the following criteria:

• 2 children for 4 or fewer adults
• 4 children for 5 or more adults.

If cabin capacity allows, additional children can stay for a cut rate of $10/day/child.

Children under 18 accompanied by an adult with a day fishing right of access are allowed to fish for free.

A safe grassy fishing site has been specially set aside to introduce young people to fishing.

A family hunting package under the European plan (cabin - 5 days) is offered by random draw at 50% off the regular price for the whole group of hunters. To enter, at least one hunter must be a child 12 to 17 years old and have a hunter's certificate.

In addition, in Réserve faunique de Rimouski, a sector is reserved for hunting by young hunters.

The group campgrounds of wildlife reserves allow young people under 18 to camp for a cut rate of $5 per person per night.

Young people under 18 accompanied by an adult can go canoe-camping for a cut rate of $4 per person per day.

At Lac Rimouski, the community hall can accommodate about twenty people and the dining room 32 people. Designed for the comfort of hunters under the American plan, it can be transformed to meet the requirements of the event you wish to hold.
