A true natural jewel of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, Parc national d'Aiguebelle is home to a variety of geological phenomenon with evocative names: giant's kettle, pillow lava...A 22-metre-high suspended walkway offers a thrilling crossing over a gigantic fault. From this vantage point you can admire scenery that has been deeply marked by the work of billions of years. A wide range of discovery activities explore a diversity of wildlife species: moose, beaver, mink, heron and osprey, to name just a few. Skiing

Backcountry skiing buffs can discover the park's pristine landscapes on close to 38 km of marked or groomed trails. Sometimes winding through hills, other times through forests or flat terrain, these trails give you access to the farthest rustic shelters of the territory, which sleep from 2 to 16 people.

Snowshoeing

Snowshoers can take the marked backcountry skiing trails (38 km) or any of the 5 snowshoeing trails. Those who want even more of a change of scenery can use one of the 10 rustic shelters as an overnight base camp.

Boating Activities

Lac Loïs is a great place to go sea kayaking. You can also discover the geological aspect of the park by canoe or rabaska on the La Haie and Sault fault lakes. Rent a boat or bring your own on certain lakes. For more information, ask one of our reception clerks. Group activities are also available upon reservation.

Cycling

Our 10-km trail will please the whole family. It runs along a former forest road and then crosses a pine forest and the Lac du Sablon primitive campground. It's an easy and peaceful ride.

Fishing with Accommodations

For a stay, you can go fishing for speckled trout, northern pike and yellow walleye on several of the park's lakes. Anglers may also use their own boats on certain lakes.

Lakes and rivers (waders) are available for day fishing. A boat is provided on most lakes but the use of personal boats is often allowed. Anglers can fish for speckled trout, pike and walleye.

Hiking

Over 50 km of trails provide ample opportunity to get out for a short hike or do some backpacking with an overnight stay in one of the park's rustic shelters. You'll also enjoy discovering a suspended footbridge, a spiral staircase, a Japanese bridge and a floating walkway.

La Castorière self-guided trail is adapted for the mobility impaired.

Wildlife Watching

An interpretation and observation field guide is available at Boutique Nature. Besides moose, Connecticut Warbler and Sharp-tailed Grouse, this guide also contains a map directing you to spots where you can observe them. The park is proud to be a member of the Réseau d'observation faunique de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

Cabin

In the summer, in the Lac Loïs and Lac Matissard sectors, the cabins are of superior quality and comfort. These log buildings with a magnificent panoramic view of the lake, are available for vacations or fishing packages.

Rustic Shelter

Nestled at the top of a hill or on the shore of a lake, 10 rustic shelters invite you to enjoy peace, relaxation and privacy. The larger Éphémère and Longicorne rustic shelters can accommodate groups. Equipment rental is available. Find out more when you make your reservation.

Canoe-Camping and Kayak-Camping

On Lac Loïs, 13 campsites give canoers and sea kayakers a chance to stay longer. A great place for watching a wide varietey of bird species.

Camping

Seventeen campsites near Lac Loïs are accessible on foot at the Ojibway hiker's campground. The Ojibway campground is semi-serviced and is for tents only. For primitive camping enthusiasts, five sites are also available at the Lac Du Sablon campground. The Abijévis campground has 47 semi-serviced or serviced sites to choose from.

In the winter, the sites are located at the Abijévis campground. Please note that there is no drinking water on the site. A pit toilet is located nearby. When you make your reservation, you can buy enough firewood for your entire stay.
