Open in the winter
Thirty minutes by car from Québec City and you're in Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier. The park’s landscape is a vast mountainous plateau cut with deep valleys. It hosts one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in Québec, the spectacular Vallée de la Jacques-Cartier. The Jacques Cartier River, calm in some places and turbulent in others, has sliced a 550-metre-deep channel into the plateau. A coniferous forest dominates the high plateaus, and deciduous trees people the deep valleys. Here, nature is both inspiring and serene.
Kids and adults alike are invited to try the brand new snow tubing hill right in the heart of the valley. Meet at the Discovery and Visitors Centre at km 10. Guaranteed laughter for the whole family! It’s free!
With snowploughs clearing Route de la Vallée all the way to the Discovery and Visitors Centre, you can drive to most of the accommodations sites by car, and explore other snowshoeing trails.
Take a load off your back, and enjoy the trip even more! Let us carry your bags to your camp (offered in Winter only). This service is offered to backcountry skiers only. This service must be reserved in advance by calling 1 800 665-6527.
Nothing beats a fishing trip for stories to dine out on for years to come. Some of the most coveted summer fishing dates and spots are still available: act fast to arrange your fishing getaway!
Reserve early, you'll have a better choice of stays and be able to reserve the cabin you want for the dates you have in mind.
Please note that the ice bridge on the Rivière-Cachée snowshoeing trail is currently closed. We will let you know when weather conditions allow it to be reopened.
Be careful! Construction work to enlarge Route 175 is in progress. Take Chemin du Panorama and follow directions for Vallée de la Jacques-Cartier. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
This September 27 marked the opening of the fully renovated Discovery and Visitors Centre at Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier. The new Park Path Explorer, a premiere for Québec’s national parks network, was launched at the same time.
