 Access and Operating Period
Réserve faunique Rouge-Matawin has 3 entrances:

Saint-Michel Sector:
The Saint-Michel Registration Centre (from Joliette take the 131 North to Saint-Michel-des-Saints). After arriving at Saint-Michel-des-Saints, take Rue St-Michel on your left just before the church and stay on this road. The registration centre is located at km 26.

L’Ascension Sector:
To get to the L’Ascension entrance and the Lac-Lenoir, Lac-Willard and Lac-Chasy campgrounds, take Highway 15 North, and then Route 117 North to L’Annonciation. At the flashing light, turn right on Chemin Mullen heading for the village of L’Ascension. Continue to the village, where you will see the Crevier garage on your left. Cross the Rivière Rouge bridge and immediately turn left onto Chemin des Îles and take this road to the reserve entrance. From this point, follow Route 4 South (gravel) to Route 47 North. The campgrounds are clearly identified. We strongly advise you to contact us before leaving home to confirm these directions.

La Macaza Sector:
La Macaza registration center, take highway 15 North and Route 117 North to Labelle. Then, turn right at the traffic light in the downtown area and head towards La Macaza. After crossing the village of La Macaza, drive straight ahead for 16 km. |
The two registration centres are open from mid-May to mid-November.
Reserve hours vary according to the season.
