The forest of Réserve faunique de Rimouski is exploited by the logging industry under Timber Supply and Forest Management Agreements (CAAF) awarded by the Ministère des Ressources naturelles de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec. Logging in mature forests ensures the regeneration of the forest, while at the same time providing a more abundant source of food for a number of wild animal species. This means quality habitats, particularly for the moose.
