From the Boreal to the Arctic…
Travel into the ecosystems of the St. Lawrence River and Canadian waters and discover northern plant and animal life. This 16-hectare site is the only one of its kind in Québec. As you make this amazing journey all the way to the North Pole, you'll have the chance to observe 10,000 fresh- and salt-water fish specimens, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, as well as marine mammals, such as Atlantic and Pacific walruses, seals and polar bears.

7 Sectors to Explore

Wetlands

Wetlands are one of the main ecosystems in the St. Lawrence corridor. They protect against erosion and flooding. Many birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and aquatic plants feed and reproduce in these areas. In the summer, you can discover these special milieus as you stroll along the outdoor paths.

Fresh Water and Salt Water

Two indoor levels allow you to experience the adventure of the St. Lawrence basin. Explore the fresh water of the Saint-Lawrence and travel from fresh water to salt water in the same river. Discover the different habitats that make up the St. Lawrence and the different species that live there – an exceptional migratory route! The journey includes stops at more than a dozen basins, from fresh-water marshes to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Atlantic Ocean.

The Banks of the St. Lawrence

In beautiful setting overlooking the St. Lawrence River and the bridges, come and observe harbour seals and spend a magic moment in their company. An entertaining, enriching and dazzling presentation!

The Coastal Zone

Enter the world of the marine invertebrates that inhabit Canadian waters from the Atlantic and the Pacific, as well as fresh water lakes and rivers. With the help of an animal guide, you can even make contact with them. Come and touch a starfish, a sea cucumber, a hermit crab, a sea urchin and lots more. Don't miss the blue lobster and the giant Pacific octopus, a surprisingly intelligent and skilful animal.

A Scientific Crossroads

Research is a very important mission for Parc Aquarium. It is presented in such a way as to demystify this little-known world. Discover the world of plankton and visit Lab’Eau where you’ll find many amphibians and reptiles.

The Awesome Ocean

You'll have a memorable experience at the main attraction of the new Parc Aquarium. When you enter this tunnel, you will be completely submerged in 350,000 litres of salt water and see a huge variety of specimens swimming before your eyes. Divers and/or animal guides will help you discover this spectacular world. A veritable dive under the waters of the North Pacific, this activity is entertaining, surprising and very enriching.

The Arctic Sector

Stroll along the trails outside and discover the splendour of the Northern Hemisphere. At the foot of the Arctic cliff, observe harp seals and the grey seals, the Atlantic walrus, and the Pacific walruses in a natural decor. Continue your visit to the polar desert and admire the polar bears. A majestic fresco allows you to see them move through the four seasons and a glass panel shows off their underwater prowess.
