Aquarium du Québec

This winter, for the 4th consecutive year, the Aquarium offers the only event of its kind in Québec City, where over 400,000 lights treat your eyes to an amazing show! They twinkle outside in a rainbow of colours, animating the trees, ice sculptures and animal-shaped structures. There is also a ginger-bread house, not 1 but 3 illuminated slides, inflatable games, and an enchanted tree. Our mascot and our animal ambassador keep the kids amused all evening! The adults can warm up at the ice bar and outdoor fireplace, heated up with festive music by a live musician!

Meet Eddy, the Aquarium’s champion swimmer, and his new neighbours Taïga and Ganuk. This vulnerable species is the focus of the Aquarium’s protection and conservation mission.

Time: 1 p.m.

Be charmed by these unique animals. In the presence of an animal guide, 3 walruses will show you thier skills. An amazing fact: these Atlantic and Pacific walruses manage to live here together in harmony. An almost unheard of phenomenon that raises a great deal of interest! Did you know their tusks can grow up to a metre long? They can be very useful for helping these chubby mammals climb up on the ice. Come and learn more in the company of an animal guide.

These skilful and playful harbour seals will put on an entertaining show. Stop for a while by their pool and admire their acrobatics. And take in the scenery. This area overlooks the St. Lawrence River and the bridges.

Meet a guide in the tunnel of the Awesome Ocean and discover the world of the Pacific and scuba diving.

Time: 1:45 p.m.

Come and touch a wide variety of invertebrates in the company of an animal guide.

Discover the reptiles and amphibians in this extraordinary place.

Children love rallies! Riddles and discoveries will liven up their visit. Several activity line-ups are possible, depending on the children's age group. Get the necessary material when you arrive or during the day.

Watch a magnificent documentary about the nature that surrounds us.

A pathway to adventure for young adventurers! This aerial hebertism trail is specially designed for them. Kids 6 to 12 years old clamber about in complete safety 70 cm from the ground. There are nets, catwalks, gangplanks, vines, and so on. A way to develop balance and self-reliance while burning up energy!

Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the summer

Learn about the Aquarium from the inside out! Be an animal keeper for a day. Your mission: make meals for the animals, help the guide organize and lead activities, and so on. A unique opportunity to discover Eddy the bear, walruses, and seals close up. Reservations required. 14 years of age or over. Activity description (pdf: 663 KB, in French only)

The water games are an aquatic paradise for kids! They were introduced in 2008 and are very much appreciated on hot days. Water jets, interactive water canons, and amusing characters will delight the children ... and adults!

This restaurant is inside L'Atrium in the main building and offers sandwiches, homemade salads, beverages, frozen desserts, and basic shopping items.

Period: Open daily from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (except on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

With family or friends, combine a brunch with an Aquarium tour.

Located in the wetland sector, it serves lunches, beverages, and frozen treats.

The restaurant boasts a terrace and a superb view of the St. Lawrence River and the Québec bridges. With a cafeteria-style layout available for 20 to 175 people, it offers a different menu each day-pastries, tasty salads, frozen deserts, beverages, and so on.

Marine animals aren't the only extraordinary sight. From the Aquarium du Québec site you have a superb view of the river and the Québec bridge. Some of the rooms are perfectly angled for looking out at this impressive backdrop.

Terrace

On warm days, the terrace is a very popular place for mixing and mingling during cocktail hour. It's exceptional because of its lovely setting and the incomparable view it offers. Capacity: 176 people.

L'Atrium

It's in the main building and perfectly suited for receptions (product launch, cocktail, or happy hour).  Capacity: 400 people.

Le Tunnel

Under the Grand Ocean, this large open area will entice you with its different levels.

La Grande Ourse restaurant

With its lovely windows, the room is ideal for a banquet, reception, or meeting. Capacity: 75 to 250 people.

La Petite Ourse

It too offers an interesting view of the river. Capacity: 30 people.

L'Étoile polaire

Small conference room. Capacity: 6 people.
