Fishing

Close to twenty-five lakes, equipped with boats, are spread out over the two accommodation sectors, Chigoubiche South. For day fishing, go to the Southern Registration Centre; some one hundred lakes are available for fishers with their own boats.

New in 2008 : It is now possible to reserve your day fishing activity 4 months in advance. For example, if you want to fish on June 24, you should reserve on February 24. Online reservations and phone reservations start at 8:30 AM (1 800 665-6527). See Reservation Terms and Conditions and the 2008 Day Fishing brochure to find out when the different bodies of water open for fishing.

Catch and possession Limits:

brook trout: 20

walleye : 6

northern pike: 10

salmon trout: 2

lake whitefish: no limit

perch: 50

Fishing is managed by following a plan determined ahead of time and approved by the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et Faune du Québec.

Hunting

Moose Hunting

Season: From September 6 to 19, 2008

Moose hunting is a quota-based activity and hence is subject to a
random draw.

During your moose hunting trip, you can also hunt small game, go hare trapping and fish in available bodies of water.

The moose hunting package also includes a right of access for autumn black bear hunting.

Small Game Hunting

Enthusiasts can hunt Ruffed Grouse, Spruce Grouse and snowshoe hare.

Season: From September 20 to October 26, 2008

Spring Black Bear Hunting

This activity is offered as part of a 5-day package with cabin accommodations.
Period: From May 15 to June 30, 2008
