Enter the Underwater World at Aquarium du Québec!
Visit the ecosystems of the different marine environments and discover their plant and animal life. Close to 10,000 specimens of fresh water and salt water fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and marine mammals animate the Aquarium’s basins. Come and applaud the polar bears, the enormous Pacific and Atlantic walrus and the very sociable seals!


Multiple Births at the Aquarium
It is with great pride that Aquarium du Québec announces the birth of approximately one hundred big-bellied sea horses, thus becoming one of only two institutions, along with the Toronto Zoo, to present these animals in Canada. On August 11, 2008, one of the males gave birth to the first five of the approximately one hundred babies the two males subsequently gave birth to. When they were born, the Aquarium's baby sea horses were barely ten centimetres long. Come and find out more!

2008 : The Year of the Frog
Zoological institutions throughout the world are mobilizing to try and save amphibians. Close to 30 % of the 6,000 catalogued amphibians are threatened with extinction.

According to Jeffrey Bonner, president of Amphibian Ark: “This is the largest extinction crisis since the dinosaur era”.
