Escape into the heart of Outaouais! Set between water and forest, Centre touristique du Lac-Simon is a 4-season vacation resort. In the summer you'll find a 2-km beach, clear waters and fine warm sand...a real taste of the south! You can enjoy your favourite water sports on the huge lake. Just next to it, the 4 km² forest is perfect for walking, cycling or having fun. In the winter, the white-tailed deer come so close you could almost touch them. Cross country skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing: it's all there, making for very sweet dreams in a tent or a cabin...

Cross Country Skiing

Enjoy over 10 km of mechanically groomed trails. Divided into 6 loops around the cabins, these trails are accessible to beginners.

Ice Fishing

There are speckled trout in Lac de la Ferme. It is one of the few bodies of water where they can be found in the winter. Between fishing sessions, you can warm up in the log cabin shelter. (Equipment available on the site. Bring your own worms. Québec fishing licence mandatory.)

White-Tailed Deer Watching

In the winter, 1,000 to 2,000 white-tailed deer visit the Lac Simon area. They are very sociable and do not fear visitors. Guaranteed show from your cabin or on a hike!

Skating

There is a skating rink on the site near the snow tubing hill. Enjoy skating with a view of the magnificent Lac Simon!

Snow Tubing

Kids and adults will love this activity, which never goes out of style. The tubes are free for cabin residents.

Snow Walking

Stroll along over 10 km of trails (all levels of difficulty) and enjoy the peacefulness of this spot. The trails are also used for cross country skiing.

Snowshoeing buffs can explore over 10 km of trails. Bring your snowshoes or rent some here for the day.

Snowmobiling

The no. 43 snowmobiling trail in the Trans-Québec network is accessible from the tourist resort. Go on a long snowmobiling trip and explore the rolling landscapes of Vallée de la Petite Nation. Snowmobile rental available 15 minutes from the resort.

Swimming

Stroll along the 2-km-long shore and revel in the fine sand and clear water. Do you love swimming? The swimming area is supervised. A paradise for parents and kids alike! Sand castles or volleyball: take your pick!

Cycling

A 2-km cycling path crosses a white pine stand before arriving in the town of Duhamel. Mountain biking enthusiasts can take the municipality's new cycling path. The circuit run for about 20 kilometres. Bring your bikes!

Explore the woods! A beautiful mixed forest offers 8.5 km of hiking trails. Among them, the 3.5-km Lac de la ferme trail gives you the chance to learn more about the surrounding nature!

Fishing

Fishing on Lac Simon

An angler's paradise, Lac Simon is a habitat for many sports fishing species. Lake trout, landlocked salmon, whitefish, smallmouth bass or speckled trout...proof that the lake is in good health. Try your luck! Québec fishing licence required.

Fishing at Lac de la Ferme

Just a few minutes from the campground, there's a perfect sport for family fishing. From the edge of this pretty lake, you can tantalize speckled trout or smallmouth bass. Gas motors boats are prohibited on the lake. Only electric motors are authorized. Québec fishing licence required.

Enjoy the two eighteen-hole mini-golf courses: everything you need for family fun! Open daily until the end of the season.

Boating Activities

Bring your boat or rent one here. The 2,800-hectare Lac Simon has a wide range of discoveries in store for you. Explore the shores aboard a canoe, kayak, pedal boat or row boat, go birdwatching or cast your fishing line.

Note that motor boats are allowed on Lac Simon. Centre touristique du Lac-Simon provides a boat ramp. Certain fees apply and inspection is mandatory.

Camping

The 370-site campground is set in a plantation of white pines and deciduous trees. 77 of the sites have 3 services and can be rented for the whole season. Short-term campers can choose from among semi-serviced sites and sites with 2 or 3 services.

Hékipia Tent (Ready-to-Camp)

The Centre touristique du Lac-Simon Campground offers 35 Hékipia tents. Playground, supervised swimming, fishing, hiking, observation points. Canoe, rowboat, kayak and pedal boat rentals.

Mini-cabins

Affordable comfort! Choose from 14 mini-cabins in 3 sectors. The mini-cabins sleep 4 people and are equipped with all you need for food preparation, a toilet, and a shower. You only bring your bedding and your food. A propane BBQ is at your disposal.

De la Falaise Sector

Four mini-cabins, newly refurbished, overlooking Lac Simon and the beach. Designed for 2 adults and 2 children, they are 3.05 m x 3.96 m (10 ft by 13 ft). Inside: stove with 2 burners, fridge, sink, toilet, shower, electric heating, dishes, utensils and cookware.
New! Two mini-cabins are available in this sector for the summer of 2013 (#4A and #4B). These one-room buildings sleep 4 people (2 futon-style sofa-beds). Inside: stove with 4 burners and propane oven, fridge, sink, washroom with shower, electric heat, dishes, utensils and cookware.

De la Plage Sector

New! Just a few steps from the beach, 2 new mini-cabins have been built near the existing cabins. They are adjoining mini-cabins, each with a total of 2 rooms on 2 stories (maximum of 4 people).Inside : stove with 4 burners and electric oven, fridge, sink, toilet, shower, electric heating, dishes, ustensils and cookware.

Des Saisonniers Sector

New! The 6 mini-cabins in the Saisonniers sector were built on former campsites near the services and the beach. These new cabins have 1 room and sleep 4 people (2 futon-style sofa-beds). Inside : stove with 4 burners and propane oven, fridge, sink, toilet, shower, electric heating, dishes, ustensils and cookware.

Cabin

The 17 cabins are nestled in the shade of a cedar and deciduous forest. A private road leads to the cabins. Each sleeps 5 or 6 people (2 or 3 bedrooms) and they are all fully equipped, heated with electricity and have a woodstove and electric range. In the summer a propane barbecue is provided. Free wireless Internet. Indoor washroom with shower. You’ll need to bring your own linens (sheets, blankets, towels and dish towels).
