Park Experience

A Necklace of Islands in the Heart of the St. Lawrence

Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville is a haven of greenery and happiness in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, just a few kilometres from downtown Montreal. It offers green spaces, channels teeming with life, and waterside trails.  Walkers, cyclists and canoeists come here for a breath of fresh air and a break from city noise. Several supervised discovery activities help you learn more about the treasures of plant and animal life that live on these five islands in the St. Lawrence.

Discover the Park Through Interpretation

Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville has the potential to inspire wonder! And the best way is to participate in our discovery activities (in French only). Through the interpretation of natural and cultural heritage, you’ll learn more about the park and the importance of protecting it.

Among the riches we hope to share are:

  • The marshes, environments teeming with life, where the vegetation shelters wide variety of wildlife.
  • The lifestyle and customs of the Iroquois of the St. Lawrence, who frequented the islands over 2,000 years ago.
  • The white-tailed deer, a mammal that doesn’t go unnoticed in the park’s many open areas.

To guide us in the development of our discovery activities, all the parks have an education plan.

Discovery and Visitors Centre

During your time at the park, don’t miss a visit to the Discovery and Visitors Centre. The exhibition here plunges you into the very essence of the park.
