Réserve faunique La Vérendrye is less than 3 hours from Montréal. It straddles the Outaouais and Abitibi-Témiscamingue tourism regions.

Access and Operating Period

The Northern Registration Centre, the Southern Registration Centre and the Lac-Rapide Registration Centre are open May to September. Operating hours vary by season. Access is via Route 117.

Operating periods of the registration centres:

  • May 16 to September 8, 2024 (Southern Registration Centre)
    • Saturday to Wednesday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Thursday and Friday, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • May 16 to September 8, 2024 (Lac-Rapide Registration Centre)
    • every day, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • May 16 to September 8, 2024 (Northern Registration Centre)
    • Sunday to Wednesday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Thursday to Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Operating periods of the reserve wardens:

  • May 16 to September 8, 2024 (Granet, Nadagam, Joncas, Giroux and Victoria)
    • every day, according to the schedule posted on site

Operating periods of the canoe-camping and Domaine registration centres (Route 117, km 329):

  • May 17 to September 8, 2024
    • every day, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (the return and handover of equipment must be completed before 5 p.m.)
  • September 9 to 29, 2024
    • every day, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (the return and handover of equipment must be completed before 4 p.m.)

Washing stations for personal watercraft

To reduce the risk of spreading aquatic invasive species on its waterways, Réserve faunique La Vérendrye is offering five cleaning stations for personal watercraft. They are located at the following sites:

  • Northern Registration Centre
  • Southern Registration Centre
  • Lac-Rapide Registration Centre
  • Domaine Registration Centre
  • La Vieille campground Registration Centre

The washing stations are available at all times during the summer period. They are available free of charge.

    Dogs on a leash are allowed in wildlife reserves, but only on certain sites. Guide dogs and service dogs are allowed everywhere. Condition and regulation

    In order to minimize the impact on wildlife and on the customer experience, Sépaq does not allow recreational drone use at the establishments it manages. Find out more

    A private individual or production company must obtain prior authorization to carry out a video shoot or photo session on Sépaq-managed territories. Find out more

    How to use MicroSD files for Garmin GPS

    Please follow these steps to copy the GPS file on your MicroSD card:

    •  Download the GPS file.
    •  Save the file on your workstation.
    •  Decompress the*.zip file.
    •  Insert the MicroSD card into your computer, perhaps with the help of an adapter.
    •  Copy the Garmin folder on your MicroSD card.
    •  Withdraw the MicroSD card from your computer.
    •  Insert the MicroSD card into your Garmin GPS.

    Important: Please do not change the name of the directory or of the file; otherwise your GPS will be unable to read the document. The MicroSD card can hold only one GPS file. Use is reserved for Garmin GPS only.
