Camp Mercier

Camp Mercier is renowned as an excellent cross-country skiing and snowshoeing centre. Set in Réserve faunique des Laurentides, less than an hour from the city of Québec, it offers classic and skate skiers and snowshoers a wide variety of trails along with a very long season (even lasts into April), gorgeous scenery and unparalleled views!

Period: December 2, 2023 to April 7, 2024 (depending on snow conditions)

Cross-country skiing day pass: online purchase is mandatory, up to 4 days before your arrival, starting at 8 p.m.

Snowshoeing day pass: purchase on site is mandatory. Camp Mercier of Réserve faunique des Laurentides is not a Québec National Park. The Annual Québec National Parks Card is not valid for admission to the snowshoeing trails.

Equipment rental is available on site. No reservations in advance (first come, first served).

A brand new service building

Outdoor enthusiasts have access to a spacious, practical, warm, and welcoming building with generous windows offering a view of the slope access area, the snow tubing run, and the outdoor fire pit.

Rooted high up in the midst of the boreal forest, the new Camp Mercier includes

  • a reception area located at the heart of its operations.
  • a large, bright, and well equipped waxing room.
  • a food services area.
  • an equipment rental shop.
  • a multi-purpose room with a fireplace, couch, and dining tables.
  • storage space for guests.

Renting equipment? The winter boots you arrived in will now be kept on a boot dryer for the most comfortable after-ski experience imaginable.

Other good news for cross-country ski enthusiasts: state-of-the-art trail maintenance equipment has been acquired to ensure remarkable grooming quality.

Cross-Country Skiing

Camp Mercier is a famous cross-country ski centre that has Québec's best snow conditions. The trail network has 70 linear km of trails (50 km for classic skiing and 20 km for skate-skiing).

Important: the maximum width of skis allowed on the trails at Camp Mercier is 68 millimetres.

Equipment rental is available on site. No reservations in advance (first come, first served).

Skate ski rental offered

To help you get started in this discipline, we’ve made several sets of skate ski equipment available at our Camp Mercier rental centre. Nearly 20 km of freshly groomed skate skiing trails are at your disposal! Why not give them a try?

Season pass

season pass for a single cross-country ski centre (seven days or five days) is available for skiers. The network season pass (seven days) which gives access to all Sépaq's cross-country ski centres is also be available.

Booklet of 12 daily tickets

Take advantage of the flexibility offered by these tickets, which are transferable between skiers and are valid in the seven cross-country ski centres.

Note that all booklets of 12 cross-country ski tickets have been sold for the winter of 2023-2024.

Day passes are available online up to 4 days before your arrival, starting at 8 p.m.

Staying with Us? Free Cross-Country Skiing!

This winter, access to the cross-country skiing trails is free for customers staying at Sépaq-network cross-country skiing centres. Present your booking confirmation at check-in to get your ski tickets. Tickets valid on your day of arrival, throughout your stay and on your day of departure. Tickets may only be used at the establishment at which you are staying.

Snowshoeing

From Camp Mercier, there are 33 linear km of recently blazed snowshoeing trails. They offer striking views, including one at 1,000 metres of altitude. You can also reach the heated rest area at Le Pic and a lean-to, both located at 800 m above sea level.

Note: during winter 2023-2024, snowshoers will be accepted and will be able to purchase their ticket on site as long as the maximum number of customers on site has not already been reached.

Camp Mercier of Réserve faunique des Laurentides is not a Québec National Park. The Annual Québec National Parks Card is not valid for admission to the snowshoeing trails.

Devlin cabins

During winter, the five Devlin cabins of Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier provide access, with a 5-minute drive by car, to the cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails of Camp Mercier located in Réserve faunique des Laurentides. There is also a fully maintained skating rink and tube slide close to the cabins. Cabin rental includes a day pass for skiing and snowshoeing.

Lac-à-Noël and Pécan cabins

The 14 cabins in the Lac-à-Noël and Pecan sectors of Réserve faunique des Laurentides are connected by a network of cross-country skiing trails. Snowshoeing trails are also accessible from the cabins. An inner tube slide and a fully maintained skating rink with a heated hut are located near the cabins. Cabin rental includes a day pass for skiing and snowshoeing.
