Sépaq activities require certain skills and abilities and involve inherent risks, which must be taken into consideration even before planning an activity. It is your responsibility to:
- Find out about the possible risks involved in the outdoor activities
- Check the skills, abilities and physical condition required to participate in them
- Prepare accordingly.

Before leaving home
- Plan on leaving in a group of at least two people with the necessary skills, abilities and physical conditions;
- Check the weather forecast. We suggest that you contact the establishment you will be visiting to find out about local weather conditions, trail conditions, water levels in the bodies of water and the risk of forest fires.
- Bring food and water even if the activity only lasts a few hours
- Wear suitable shoes for the activity
- Bring extra clothes (rain coat, warmer clothing, etc.)
- Be sure the equipment you will be using during the activity is in good condition
- Pack a whistle, flashlight, first aid kit, etc.
- Don't forget mosquito repeller
- Let somebody know the exact location of your destination and the date you plan to return home, with instructions to contact emergency services (911) if you do not return.
Before starting an activity
- Get a map of the area
- Check how much time the activity takes
- Follow the specific instructions for each activity
- Register at the reception office and inform the staff of your itinerary
- Respect signs and notices of restriction, including instructions for outside fires
- Never leave children unattended
- Boil or treat (filter, chorine, iodine) water from lakes, rivers or streams before drinking it
- When camping, put food in hermetic containers away from anim
- Don’t count on your cell phone; in most areas the networks are not available
- Do not overestimate your strength; choose your itineraries according to your physical condition
- If you notice that a piece of equipment or an accessory is missing or defective, stop the activity and immediately tell a staff member about the situation..
When you get back
When you have finished your activity, be sure to report any damage, malfunction or problem.
