The Environmental Indicators Monitoring Program at Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay

Since 2004, the Environmental Indicators Monitoring Program (EIMP) (see also the summary, in French only) as been implemented at Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay. A total of 22 indicators are monitored, such as:

  • The condition of bethnic fauna, an indicator that aims to measure the health of a waterway through the type of insects found in the area
  • Monitoring the marine terraces of Tadoussac, a sensitive environment where the vegetation is gradually reclaiming its rightful place
  • The anuran listening route, whose aim is to establish an abundance of species in an area of the park rich in lakes and wetlands

After 10 years of field research, we are proud to present the first report on the evolution of the ecological integrity for Quebec’s National Parks. Access the entire findings of more than 370 surveys carried out through the Environmental Indicators Monitoring Program.
