Restoration work on Mont-Albert trail: September 13 to 18, 2021
Restoration work on Mont-Albert trail in Parc national de la Gaspésie will be carried out from Monday, September 13 to Saturday, September 18, 2021. The work will be done over a distance of 400 m, between L'Éclaircie and Du rabougri shelter (at the peak). The trail will remain accessible during the work period. However, short interruptions of 20 to 30 minutes are to be expected during the day. Hikers will have to stop and wait for a signal from on-site personnel before resuming their hike.
For this reason, it is important to allow extra time to climb Mont Albert. Even if the trail remains accessible during the work period, we suggest that visitors take advantage of this time to discover other trails that are sometimes less well known and less busy, such as Mont Richardson or Pic du Brûlé trails.
Please note that the work will require transportation by helicopter. This will cause noise that may be heard in the vicinity of the discovery and visitors centre, Gîte du Mont-Albert, Camping de la Rivière, and Camping Mont-Albert. The work period could be prolonged in the event of unfavorable weather conditions.
Thank you for your cooperation.
