Dog

National parks

Since May 17, 2019, dogs are allowed in all Québec national parks, except in the Anticosti and Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé national parks. However, dogs are only authorized in certain places.

The places where dogs are allowed vary from one national park to another and from one season to another. Note: dogs are generally allowed on the summer trails from early May to late October. To learn the precise period during which dogs are allowed, please check on the opening periods of the summer and winter trails of the park you wish to visit. Consult the list of places where dogs are authorized in each park:

Code of conduct of the responsible owner (in French only)

Pilot project results and summary sheet (in French only)

Wildlife reserves

Dogs are allowed in wildlife reserves, but only on certain places marked for that purpose.

Aquarium du Québec

Domestic animals, including pets, are not permitted at Aquarium du Québec, with the exception of certified guide dogs and service dogs on duty, which are allowed without restriction in all buildings and other areas. They must be kept on a leash at all times.

Anyone wishing to enter the Aquarium with a guide or service dog must be able to provide an identification card or a letter from the organization attesting to the dog's status as a guide or service dog that has completed training and an easily identifiable visual identification element (harness, visible scarf, or any other visual identification element). The dog's up-to-date vaccination record is optional (vaccines: rabies, kennel cough (Bordetella), distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus, leptospirosis).

Aquarium du Québec reserves the right to ask the visitor and his or her pet to leave the site if the safety instructions are not respected and if the dog exhibits behaviour that could disturb the peace and quiet of the premises and the other animals.

Please note that guide dogs in training are not permitted. An emotional support animal is considered a pet. Emotional support animals are not permitted on the Aquarium du Québec site.
