Random draws

Big game hunting stays in wildlife reserves and at Sépaq Anticosti, as well as day fishing adventures at popular Lac au Sorcier in Réserve faunique Mastigouche, are allocated through Sépaq random draws.

Sépaq also manages random draws for special licences and trapping licences (Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs), as well as for private vacation lots on public land (Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts).

Day fishing at Lac au Sorcier

Given the great popularity of Lac au Sorcier in the Réserve faunique Mastigouche, Sépaq holds each spring a random draw for the attribution of day fishing on this lake. There are five boats available per day that can hold up to three anglers each.

Hunting special licences and trapping

On behalf of the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs, Sépaq manages random draws for the allocation of special big game hunting licences and traplines for furbearers. These draws are reserved exclusively for Quebecers.

Note that some antlerless deer special licences must be used in the Enhanced Monitoring Area (EMA) for which they were issued and are not valid for the entire hunting zone.

Private vacation lots

Mandated by the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts, Sépaq manages the random draw for allocation of private vacation lots on public land. These lots, which generally measure 4,000 m2, are offered for lease on an annually renewable basis. With a few exceptions, these are generally wooded waterfront lots that are accessible by land.

Before registering for this random draw, consult the Québec.ca website for all the details.
