Mont Jacques Cartier

A protected natural site

Mont Jacques Cartier is an essential habitat for the Gaspésie caribou. In order to protect this species, access to the trail is regulated:

• Off-trail activity is prohibited.
• The trail is accessible from July 1 to September 30.
• Hiking is only permitted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

A park warden ensures that these rules are respected.

Access to the trailhead is by shuttle ($) from Camping Jacques-Cartier Registration Centre (round trip). A transportation service from the Discovery and Visitors Centre is also available, so you can leave your vehicle behind.

Note: The last shuttle leaves Camping Jacques Cartier Registration Centre at 11:40 a.m.
