Small Game Day Hunting

• There are hunting sectors set aside exclusively for day hunting. Pay your access fee and it's all yours.

Species and possession limits

• Each hunter can harvest 5 birds (ruffed grouse and spruce grouse) per day for a total of 15 birds. There are no limits for snowshoe hare.

Additional information

• Limited access during winter
  Please note that some wildlife reserves offer small game hunting until the beginning of winter. However, the roads are not maintained once the first snow falls. You must park your vehicle at the reception centres or entry points to the territories and then travel on foot or snowshoes only.
• Maps and statistics
  Maps of small game hunting sectors are available for certain wildlife reserves. Small game hunting statistics are also sometimes available. This information can be found in the Map Library section of each wildlife reserve page.

Hunting license and taxes not included.
*Youths aged 12 to 17 can hunt small game for free, provided they are accompanied by an adult holding a daily small game hunting access permit.
