Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon

Lac Saint-Jean is a true inland sea, whose water warms up quickly in the summer sun. The long, sandy, multicoloured beaches invite you to relax.

In the Pointe-Taillon sector, a large, well-equipped beach features a supervised area, free lounge chairs and umbrellas, and a children’s playground. Boats are available for rent: canoes, pedal boats, kayaks and paddleboards. The islands, now part of the park, offer inviting wild beaches.

The 45 kilometres of bike paths go all around the peninsula along Lac Saint-Jean and Rivière Péribonka. Easy and accessible to everyone, they traverse beaver and moose habitat.

Along the way, be attentive to signs of wildlife presence! You will also find rest stops and information on the fauna, flora and human history of Pointe Taillon. Don’t you have your bike? You can rent one at the park’s rental centre. The Véloroute des Bleuets crosse all three sectors of the park.

Keep your eyes peeled!
You will see discreet signs of many animals. You never know when you could encounter a beaver or a moose. To increase your odds, be there at dawn or dusk...

The campsites are true oases, where you can enjoy sandy beaches, the lake’s warm water and a peaceful setting. Primitive campsites are accessible via the bike path along Lac Saint-Jean and others along the banks of Rivière Péribonka are accessible via the Péribonka water shuttle. New semi-serviced or 2-service campsites are now available at the Camp-de-Touage campground in Saint-Gédéon

From the village of Péribonka, this service provides water access to the park’s bike path and the Pointe-Chevrette and Île-Bouliane campgrounds. The water shuttle is provided by the municipality of Péribonka. This service is intended for cyclists, pedestrians and campers. Parking is located to the right of the gas station, opposite the Peribonka marina. No reservations are required for the water shuttle. Simply go to the Péribonka or Pointe-Chevrette marina to cross to the other side. You can pay at the park entrance or directly aboard the shuttle. Please arrive a few minutes ahead of time.

Daily shuttle service to the islands: Come enjoy the peacefulness of the islands’ beaches for a few hours. Several departures are possible depending on weather conditions.
Themed cruises: A guide-interpreter tells you about the area’s history, including the presence of First Nations peoples, the log driving era and industrial development while you ride a zodiac around the islands for about to two hours.
Sunset cruise: Watching the sunset is a must and so worth seeing! Of course the view from the lake is the most spectacular...
