Ecological Integrity

The Environmental Indicators Monitoring Program at Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon

Since 2004, the Environmental Indicators Monitoring Program (EIMP) (see also the summary, in French only) has been implemented at Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon. A total of 18 indicators are monitored. Among them are:

  • The degree of lakes acidity
  • The condition of the shoreline
  • The evolution of the density of infrastructures located on the territory

The condition of campsites is also monitored annually. Each indicator is important, and the ultimate goal of the program is to monitor the territory’s health and to document its evolution over time.
