Scientific Research

Major Research Orientations at Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier

Having extensive knowledge of the parks to better preserve them is the foundation that justifies the efforts invested in inventories, monitoring programs and scientific research. At Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier, using a variety of methods, we try to deepen our basic knowledge on the species that live in the park, to better understand the issues related to bank erosion along the road and activity areas, and to monitor the development of forest stands. To do so, we take inventories of amphibians, bats and insects.

Many monitoring projects are also underway, such as the deterioration of campsites and the riverbanks, the physicochemical quality of the lakes, the spread of exotic invasive species, and trail control.
