Be among the lucky people to experience the total solar eclipse at the foot of Mont Mégantic, the astronomy capital of Québec. Mont-Mégantic National Park is located on the line of centrality in the strip of totality eclipse, providing access to a unique and memorable experience. Enjoy entertaining and informative presentations on our outdoor stage, with live broadcasts of the eclipse's progression on a giant screen.

Activities at the foot of the mountain (ASTROLab)
The activities are conducted in French
Events such as the ECLIPSE, Webb Space Telescope, and Celestial Mechanics shows will be presented on an outdoor stage with giant screen. Between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., presentations will focus on the progression of the eclipse on Earth, with explanations by our enthusiastic team. Telescopes with solar filters will be available to observe the sun during the partial eclipse phase (due to high demand, access to telescopes is not guaranteed). Observation with the naked eye (safety glasses provided) will be the preferred approach, with a moment of silence during the total phase, between 3:28 and 3:32 p.m. The ASTROLab museum will be open for brief visits.
If the sky is slightly overcast, the moment of totality of the eclipse can be seen due to the sensation of brief darkness. Animation on a giant screen will allow you to experience the eclipse.

Approximate length: on-site events between 12 noon and 4 p.m., plus bus transportation time (variable depending on the boarding point selected).

Please arrive at the parking lot of the selected pick-up point 15 minutes before the time indicated on your ticket. No cars will be admitted to Parc national du Mont-Mégantic. People who miss their bus departure will not be able to take part in the activity.
The activity takes place exclusively outdoors, at the foot of the mountain.
