And the experience of late hunting will be thrilling for those hunters spread across the Matane, Rimouski, and Chic-Chocs wildlife reserves. Michel Therrien is with his big brother Carl-Éric, as well as a hunting group consisting of Jean-Pierre, a mutual friend, and Paul and Jean, two veteran hunters. Hunting guide Pierre-Luc Fontaine and his group head to Réserve faunique de Rimouski during the pre-rut period to hunt down the forest king. This is recognized as one of the best moose hunting grounds due to its exceptional average density of animals per km2. Despite the difficult conditions, this hunting trip was a great success. An episode full of twists and turns where the bears were very cooperative indeed. The tasty bear meat harvested in this episode was prepared as sausage, roast, steak, and ground meat, all popular foods at summer barbecues. (Video in French only)

About Chasse Québec: the web series

Presented by Sépaq, the series heads out to discover the main game found at Quebec's wildlife reserves: black bear and small game, as well as moose in pre-rut and during late hunting. Filled with anecdotes and advice, the series is aimed at both an insider audience and at budding hunters. Each episode presents hunting with sobriety and modesty from a complete perspective; because beyond the harvest of an animal, there are all those moments of emotion, feasts of partridge and liver, camp stories, learning experiences, firsts, and a mosaic of successful or failed attempts: all the joys, trials, and tribulations that life in the woods offers us all.
