Parc national d'Opémican
Parc national du Bic
Located at the western edge of Parc national du Bic, La Coulée campground is accessible on foot or by bike over a short distance of just over one kilometre. From the nine wooded, intimate, and quiet campsites, and on wood platforms, you can walk to the magnificent St. Lawrence River in just a few seconds flat. Rioux Farm Discovery and Visitors Centre is accessible on foot or by bike (5.5 km) or car (13 km).
Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay
In Baie-Sainte-Marguerite sector of Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay, Pointe-du-Moulin campground and its 10 campsites offer an exceptional view of the fjord. Accessible on foot or by bike along a 2.3-km trail, this campground also offers traditional ready-to-camp units, should you wish to opt for a little more comfort.
Parc national de Frontenac
To discover an untamed natural environment, why not enjoy a stopover at Lac Egan campground of Parc national de Frontenac? This rarely visited place offers three platforms and a fire pit with a grill to prepare your meal as authentically as possible. You can walk to the campground only 500 metres away. Trolleys to transport your luggage are on loan absolutely free of charge.
Parc national des Grands-Jardins
According to campers who visit Parc national des Grands-Jardins, Étang-Malbaie campground is the most beautiful facility of this corner of Charlevoix. The five campsites are accessible on foot only a stone’s throw away and offer a splendid view of Lac Étang Malbaie. Delighted hikers will discover that Les Pionniers trail is located near the campground while skippers will be happy to learn that personal watercraft are authorized on the lake.
It should also be noted that La Roche campground located in the park will satisfy your craving for peace and quiet. Accessible on foot after a short walk, the 23 campsites of this waterfront campground will delight hikers (Le Pommereau trail nearby) and boat ride enthusiasts (personal watercraft are authorized on the lake).
Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie
Hiking, canoeing, biking – there are all sorts of ways to travel the eight kilometres separating Le Draveur Visitors Centre from renowned L’Équerre campground of Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie. In total, 25 campsites in the forest or near the river are offered for adventure enthusiasts looking for peace and quiet. As a bonus, Chute-du-Ruisseau-Blanc and Orchidées hiking trails are located right nearby. A perfect way to stretch your legs!
Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier
Vallée de la Jacques-Cartier is absolutely worth exploring by privacy seeking campers. By heading upriver via Chemin de la Vallée, you'll have access to Le Grand-Duc (km 12.5), Le Héron (km 18), Le Morillon (km 30), and Les Hirondelles campgrounds (km 30). They are easily accessible on foot, between 300 m and 2.4 km. away. The beauty of the campsites as well as the river located nearby will guarantee a great night’s sleep. We should also mention that Le Héron campground is accessible via the river. Paging all canoe-camping enthusiasts!
Parc national du Mont-Mégantic
To enjoy the most beautiful starry nights of the province, pitch your tent at Grande-Ourse campground of Parc national du Mont-Mégantic. Accessible by foot – a mere 2.2 km to cover with your bag on your back – is your sleeping place at the heart of the Observatoire sector hiking trail network. Any one of the 13 platforms can accommodate you and your gear. So, are you ready for sweet dreams at the heart of the first International Dark Sky Reserve?
Parc national du Mont-Orford
Spending the night at Le Vallonier campground of Parc national du Mont-Orford is heaven for avid walkers. After an uphill 4 km trek, you can set up camp at one of the 14 platforms provided for this purpose. While relaxing around one of the two communal fire pits of the campground, you can say mission accomplished!
Parc national du Mont-Tremblant
As the largest territory of the Quebec national parks network, Parc national du Mont-Tremblant obviously offers many campgrounds for independent adventurers. In La Diable sector, La Gamelle and Le Cyclo campgrounds steal the show. They’re easily accessible after a short 100 to 300 m walk and are at the heart of activities of La Diable sector (beach and hiking trails).
In La Pimbina sector, Lac-Lajoie-Nord, Lac-aux-Rats, and Lac-Herman campgrounds also provide easy access to the activities of the sector, including Lac Provost beach and Chute-aux-Rats trail.
As for L’Assomption sector, Simard 1 campground, renowned for its beauty and tranquility, will charm you with its nine rustic campsites and easy access to Rivière l’Assomption. Chez Bill campground, located at the edge of Lac Cyprès, offers, for its part, the possibility to launch your sea kayak and navigate the waterway. Finally, peace of mind is guaranteed at Le Ruisseau campground and its three rustic campsites.
Parc national des Monts-Valin
In the heights of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, you can truly get away from it all at Le Septentrional campground of Parc national des Monts-Valin! The five campsites accessible on foot only a short distance away will charm you by their proximity to Lac Martin-Valin. Don’t forget that you can rent a watercraft at the discovery and visitors centre (17 km away) so you can navigate the lake like a smooth mariner.
Parc national d’Opémican
Discover the latest Quebec national park by staying at Paroi-aux-Faucons campground of Parc national d’Opémican. Accessible on foot, the four campsites are located near a large 70-metre cliff overlooking Lac Témiscamingue. A stunningly beautiful scene! Under a big forest cover of tall pines, you’re sure to sleep like a baby! And you’ll be delighted to learn that a number of hiking trails are located near the campground.
Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon
Picture yourself camping at the edge of magnificent Lac Saint-Jean… It’s difficult to ask for better for a rustic camping stay. Les Castors, Le Prospecteur, and Pointe-Chevrette campgrounds of Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon, located respectively 2, 4, and 20 km from the discovery and visitors centre, are accessible via the bike path (a trailer to transport your luggage is available free of charge). You'll be able to sleep close to the shore, where the lulling sound of the water will guarantee some serious shut-eye!
The park also offers the possibility to camp on Île Bouliane, accessible by kayak or shuttle via the Péribonka marina. Let's be honest, is there a greater feeling of tranquility than sleeping at one of the six rustic campsites of this isolated island at the mouth of Rivière Péribonka?
Parc national de la Yamaska
For a stay at the edge of Réservoir Choinière, Le Rivage campground of Parc national de la Yamaska is your perfect go-to destination. Accessible on foot or by cycling a mere 4.5 km, as well as by canoe or kayak via the navigable waterway from the discovery and visitors centre, any one of the three rustic campsites of this sector will be an ideal place to spend the night.
