An experienced guide will take you on a day-long shuttle tour of Parc national d’Anticosti. Both sectors are popular spots for fox, deer, and bird watching, especially at sunrise and sunset. During the day, your walk will take you from the wreck of the Calou to Pointe-Ouest lighthouse, past ancient cemeteries that will be yours to discover, and down to the seaside.

What to do in the southern sector
Explore the island's best-kept secrets
Canyon-de-la-Chicotte and Petit-Canyon-de-la-Chicotte trails take you through some of Anticosti's most spectacular sectors. The first trail invites trekkers to embark on a seven km hike through the forest to a canyon of atypical rock formations, where nature reigns supreme.
The second trail takes you past emerald-coloured natural pools carved out of the crystal-clear riverbed and surrounded by Nordic vegetation. A two km hike perfect for long moments of relaxation.
Chicotte-la-Mer sector
The 12 km Les Échoueries trail hugs the Gulf of St. Lawrence, wending its way around wild maritime landscapes typical of the island’s southern sector. Take the time to stop and check out the dozens of grey and harbour seals that bask here.
Pointe-Sud-Ouest sector
Anticosti Island's most beautiful birding site awaits you at the end of Pointe-Sud-Ouest trail, a five km hike leading to the lighthouse of the same name. This is one of the most isolated locations on the island, with a ghostly air caused by its stunted trees and an abandoned farm site.
The dazzling road to the northern end of the island
Head to the island’s northern sector for a hike in Canyon-de-la-Vauréal: a seven km trail in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site, leading to the mythical Chute Vauréal waterfall. A brand-new observation deck is at your disposal, from which to admire the 76-metre-high waterfall.
The northern end of the island: to the rhythm of the tides
Anticosti Island’s northern sector offers you the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, magical moments when the sky meets the sea. Adventure awaits you, a mere stone’s throw from the island's main attractions!

What to do in the northern sector
Explore Canyon-de-la-Vauréal sector
There are two options for admiring Parc national d’Anticosti's most famous site: a seven km hike through Canyon-de-la-Vauréal, which takes you to the foot of the mythical Chute Vauréal waterfall, or a visit to the brand-new observation deck, where you can admire not only the falls, but also the various layers of fossilized sediment visible in the rock faces.
The Baie-de-la-Tour sector seafront
Worthy of the waters of the tropics, with its white sandy beach curved by two immense rocky cliffs, Baie-de-la-Tour is the perfect picnic stop! You can get there via Chute-Baie-de-la-Tour trail – a three km hike along the river – or venture out on a five km trail offering breathtaking views.
Off the beaten track at Grotte-à-la-Patate
A three km hike takes you to the cave, one of the most expansive underground caverns in Québec at 625 m long. End your day with a short two km hike overlooking the vertiginous 90-metre-high Canyon-de-l'Observation nearby.
The dazzling road toward the southern end of the island
Plan a day trip to the southern part of the island, featuring Anticosti’s wildest landscapes. While exploring trails ranging in length from 2 km to 12 km, you’ll take in the canyons of the south, admire the seashores where seals bask, or discover emerald-coloured natural pools perfect for a moment of relaxation.
