Canoe-camping

This intermediate level circuit includes 16 canoe-camping sites at approximately 4 km intervals. It is possible to start the circuit at Camping Nichcotea and finish at Camping Carrière to shorten the circuit by 25 km.

• 7 type A* portages totalling 1.6 km
• 2 type B* portages totalling 185 m

Points of interest: very diversified circuit. The segment between Lac Darcy and Lac Carrière is quite wild and little frequented. Splendid circuit for experienced canoe-campers who are not afraid to get their feet wet.

Difficulties: several obstacles in Ruisseau Carrière such as fallen trees, rocks, beaver dams, and small rapids. The nature of these obstacles varies during the summer depending on the weather and beaver activity.

• 2 Class I rapids

This advanced level circuit includes 7 canoe-camping sites at approximately 6 km intervals. The 13.5 km linear segment (round trip) leads to the 44.5 km loop segment.

Baie Barker campground

Note that the boat launch is no longer accessible by car. A 350-metre portage is required to reach the start of the circuit.

• 3 type A* portages totalling 1.1 km
• 3 type B* portages totalling 580 m

Points of interest: the circuit is composed mostly of large lakes, namely Grand lac Victoria, Chartier, and La Perche. Very beautiful scenery, clear water, suitable for swimming. Lovely beach in the northeastern section of Baie des Missionnaires. Rock sculpture on Lac Victoria and esker on Lac Graham.
