Fishing and vacation getaways for 2013: Reserve as of April 28, 2012
The Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq) is delighted to announce that everyone can begin booking fishing and vacation getaways with cabin accommodations for the 2013 season in wildlife reserves and national parks as of this coming April 28. You may remember that for reservations for the 2012 season, Sépaq showed a spirit of innovation just last year by abolishing the venerable random-draw institution for fishing and vacation getaways in wildlife reserves and national parks. The reservation-inauguration period was established in November 2011, during our year of transition. From now on, the opening of reservations will always be scheduled for April.
It’s now possible to reserve more than a year in advance
By moving up the beginning of the reservation-inauguration period to a little over a year before the beginning of a stay, Sépaq wishes to offer anglers and vacationers a chance to reserve for the next year when they’re actually on site at the end of their stay, as is commonly the case in sports-fishing circles. By setting the beginning of booking even before the opening of the 2012 season, Sépaq is making sure to maintain equity of access by offering everyone the same chance to obtain a specific cabin on a given date.
Reservation-inauguration calendar
The new reservation calendar was established based on comments received from clients and an analysis of the flow of calls that poured in throughout the consecutive ten-day reservation-inauguration operation after the abolition of the random draw last fall. The opening of reservations will be scheduled over two weekends, so as to accommodate the largest number of interested parties. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis, according to the successive opening schedules of the facilities concerned.
Schedule
Telephone bookings (1-800-665-6527) will be taken Saturdays and Sundays between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. (April 28 and 29 and May 5 and 6, 2012). Online bookings, for their part, can be made 24/7, at www.sepaq.com, from the opening of the reservation period for each facility. Computer procedures have been reviewed since the fall and new equipment acquired to minimize slowdowns during rush-hour periods on our transaction site.

Attractive discounts for anglers
As was the case for our 2012 fishing holidays, a 20% discount will apply as of the third day of a 2013 fishing holiday, and for the days that follow. What’s more, the family fishing package will be offered at a cost of $409 for three days, and $105 / additional day. And last but not least, Sépaq is still offering very attractive rates and flexible stays for large groups of anglers. Check out the Sépaq Web site for more details.
Service+ packages: earlier still
The Service+ packages offered at Réserve faunique des Laurentides (Lac-Henri-Mercier, Lac-Brûlé, Croche-McCormick, and Portes-de-l’Enfer sectors), which could already be reserved a year in advance, have been grouped together and will be offered on the same date, i.e. April 17. This way, the high demand for these packages will not clog bookings of standard fishing packages on April 28.
