Groups can choose between an evening at the Popular Observatory or at ASTROLab. However, when weather conditions do not allow for a safe climb to the Observatory, the astronomy evening is held at ASTROLab.
At over 1,000 m in altitude, the Popular Observatory of Mont-Mégantic gives groups the opportunity to look through a 60-cm telescope. This unique multi-media observatory houses one of the biggest telescopes in the world dedicated exclusively to the public. The evening begins with sunset watching on the summit of Mont Mégantic, and then moves to the Popular Observatory for an astronomy presentation as dusk makes way for the stars. If the weather is cloudy, the observatory’s multi-media resources are utilized for an interactive evening of entertainment.
Bring warm clothing to enjoy the show! Accessibility: May to October. Duration: 3 h (including transportation). Capacity: 45 pers.
