The national park

Parc national de la Gaspésie is a gateway to a unique mountain environment. The Chic-Chocs and McGerrigle mountains have more than 25 peaks of over 1,000 metres in altitude. These mountains are home to an abundance of wildlife, including the deer family. Deer live in the valleys, moose in the foothills, and woodland caribou on the peaks.

This hiking mecca is marked by cairns, small mounds of stones piled up to serve as points of reference. Found everywhere in this world of mountains, this icon is even part of the Gîte du Mont-Albert logo.

Activities

All winter, about 7 metres of snow cover the mountains, making for excellent conditions…and breathtaking scenery! Many people like to discover the park on snowshoes along our 13 trails, which range in length from 1.7 to 18 km. Alpine skiers scan enjoy alpine touring, telemark and snowboarding in 5 ski areas featuring snowfields and forests. Cross country skiers can explore 22 km of mechanically groomed trails.

Restaurant

Morning and evening, Gîte du Mont-Albert Restaurant, open to everyone, welcomes you in a relaxed atmosphere for a delicious meal featuring regional cuisine. One of the musts on the menu is the famous Atlantic salmon, smoked right at the Gîte.
