THE NATIONAL PARK

Parc national de la Gaspésie is a gateway to a unique mountain environment. The Chic-Chocs and McGerrigle mountains have more than 25 peaks of over 1,000 metres in altitude. These mountains are home to an abundance of wildlife, including the deer family. Deer live in the valleys, moose in the foothills, and woodland caribou on the peaks.

This hiking mecca is marked by cairns, small mounds of stones piled up to serve as points of reference. Found everywhere in this world of mountains, this icon is even part of the Gîte du Mont-Albert logo.

Activities

In the summer, visitors mainly discover the park through hiking, which reveals a sea of mountains to beginners and more experienced hikers alike. Set yourself a challenge: choose the mountain that suits you best and add it to the list of peaks you’ve climbed! Canoeing, kayaking and fishing are also on the agenda.

Restaurant

Morning and evening, Gîte du Mont-Albert Restaurant, open to everyone, welcomes you in a relaxed atmosphere for a delicious meal featuring regional cuisine. One of the musts on the menu is the famous Atlantic salmon, smoked right at the Gîte.
