Information About Avalanches

To practice telemark skiing, snow surfing and downhill skiing on snowfields, management of Parc national de la Gaspésie considers that users must:

• Have a basic knowledge of the phenomenon of avalanches
• Evaluate the stability of the snow pack
• Have intervention material (avalanche transceiver, shovel and sounding pole). These equipments are available for rent at the Mountain School.
• Practice their activity safely (at least three persons, ski one at a time, cancel or postpone the  activity in the event of signs of instability in the snow pack or inclement weather conditions)
