New Adventure Package at Lac-Brûlé sector

Anglers who want to head out for an adventure by adding a touch of exploration to their fishing stay will be delighted by the new Adventure Package offered at Lac-Brûlé sector, located only a few hours from Québec City.

This is the story of an affiliation between Sépaq and Hooké, partners in the development of this new adventure fishing zone in Réserve faunique des Laurentides.

A territory rich in traditions

Over the years, the trophy trout legend of Lac-Brûlé sector was gradually forgotten when the clientele turned toward more easily accessible destinations. However, for the people working in the field, the stars never stopped shining on this mythical territory.

In recent years, Sépaq undertook a revitalization project of the territory with an ambitious approach: consult the outdoor industry and bring it on board around an initiative making adventure accessible while respecting the wild and untouched nature of the sector, a protected biodiversity zone.

Lac-Brûlé sector of Réserve faunique des Laurentides has always had a special status in the minds of users and managers of the wildlife reserve. Accessible only by seaplane in its first years of operation, the territory has remained the playground of intrepid souls ready to drive the two hours required to reach the end of Route 168. Instinctively, Hooké was the very first company approached to develop the project.

Abitibi & co. joined the adventure and provided the canoes so that visitors could reach the remote lakes and fishing holes of the sector.

A unique experience for each angler

Sépaq created a network of portage trails and set up four new Étoile ready-to-camp sites, a hybrid between a cabin and campground modeled on the principle of prospector tents. These accommodation units are all equipped with an outdoor fire pit, as well as a big common pier specially designed for fly casting or simply for relaxing after a big day of fishing.

Sépaq also set up shore lunch sites with all the amenities needed to cook your fresh fish by most lakes. Fly lines, boats, and motors are also included with the fishing package. For the more adventurous among us, it’s possible to fish on around 15 of the sector’s unexploited waterways. Anglers can also try their luck on Rivière Métabetchouane with its many fishing holes where amazing discoveries are in store. Please note that motors and boats are available directly on the lakes, except for the unexploited waterways.
