Filles de bois

Filles de bois is a women's information forum started by Kate Nadeau and is an offshoot of the specialized magazine Aventure Chasse Pêche. Firstly, it's a sharing group that welcomes passionate women who enjoy hunting, fishing, or trapping. It's also a support group where women can interact and share experiences, tips, and advice via the Filles de bois Facebook page.

You can also enjoy their writing in Aventure Chasse Pêche magazine, where they tackle subjects of particular interest to the female clientele. Stay tuned, because some gals in the group are planning to offer training sessions in the very near future, including on archery and clay pigeon shooting.

On tire entre filles

On tire entre filles is an initiation to clay pigeon shooting activity for women created by Marie-Claude Landry. She had the idea of organizing these gatherings to share her passion and give women the chance to learn the basics of shooting in a very safe environment.

The activity includes access to the shooting club; 2 rounds of 25 pigeons; loans of a guns, a vest, and shooting glasses; ammunition; and hearing protectors. For the dates of activities, follow this Facebook page.

Pêches - La pêche est belle

A Hooké-style female community, Pêches is the result of unique moments shared by women who are fly fishing enthusiasts from all over Québec. The original idea? Simply put, get together among gals to do some fishing and drink some bubbly!

Pêches organizes a number of fly-fishing gatherings for women who wish to become acquainted with and share the magic and female and festive vibe of fishing.

The project instigator, Marie-Eve Cournoyer, put forward the idea to her two accomplices, Judith and Sophie, last May and since then, they’ve introduced a number of women to fly fishing, in addition to organizing events throughout Québec. They have, among other things, brought together some 30 gals to fish for striped bass in Carleton and launched the Étaux et vino editions, which are fly tying and fine wine tasting workshops. Sometimes, there’s even a chef on hand during certain evenings to offer the ladies food and wine matches.

They’re currently planning a number of initiation days in the Charlevoix region and elsewhere in Québec. Check their Facebook page for upcoming dates.

Fauniquement femme

The Fauniquement femme program was created in 1999 by the Fédération québécoise des chasseurs et pêcheurs in order to promote sport hunting and fishing among women.

Whether you’re a beginner or a little more experienced, training sessions have been designed to meet the needs of an adventurous clientele interested in acquiring new knowledge.

During a weekend, the Fauniquement femme Latulippe event offers you a complete program so you can become acquainted with a number of aspects of hunting and fishing!

On the program, there are four initiation workshops run by experienced volunteer instructors who know how to convey to participants their passion and the basics of these activities: line and fly fishing, shotgun and rifle shooting, archery, and how to operate an outboard motor.

To register… step right this way!
