Perseid Evenings – Parc national du Mont-Mégantic

Held at ASTROLab of Parc national du Mont-Mégantic, Perseid Evenings are a very popular way to observe the famous meteor showers. From August 9 to 13, 2019, special presentations, telescope gazing, and mood music await you.

If you wish to spend the evening at the foot of the mountain or access the summit at the Popular Observatory, bring your deck chairs and covers to spend the night with us! Please note that bookings are needed for activities at the top of the mountain.

Shining a light on the stars

The starry sky is certainly one of most magnificent shows that nature has to offer. Join us to celebrate one of humanity’s greatest sources of inspiration and participate in an astronomy activity filled with stars… rain or shine!

In addition to making an incursion into the mysterious world of stars, this activity will also address the impacts of light pollution on the starry sky, the economy, safety, ecosystems, and human health, while proposing simple solutions to reduce such ramifications. A very special nod will also be made to the Perseids during their period of activity.

This one-of-a-kind activity is offered all summer long at the following national parks: Aiguebelle, Fjord-du-Saguenay, Frontenac, Haute-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie, Grands-Jardins, Jacques-Cartier, Mont-Orford, Mont-Saint-Bruno, Oka, and Yamaska.

What could be better than settling in at the beach to admire the show! Exceptionally, for the evening of Friday August 9, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., you’re invited to stroll along the sands and admire the shooting stars. Just make sure you’re back at your campsite for curfew!

The Perseids are back! – Station touristique Duchesnay

Attention astronomy enthusiasts of the Québec City region: it's time to make your wish list! The shooting star show will illuminate the skies of Duchesnay on July 15, as well as August 6 and 13, 2019 at 8 p.m. Commentary by a sky expert, a presentation, and telescope gazing are all on the agenda during these very special evenings.
