North-South Option
Is this your first time on Anticosti? Imagine… an island that is 17 times larger than the Island of Montréal and 50 times the size of the Island of Orléans. A huge natural paradise! To optimize your visit, whether you're in an inn, a cabin or camping, you can stay for three days in the north and three days in the south or vice-versa. This is a great way to discover the diversity of this majestic territory. An experience not to be missed!

Activities offered
A summary of 2006 activities:

1. Hiking
Choose from three kinds of hikes:
Guided: Hike along the deep canyon leading to the spectacular Vauréal falls or relive the glory days of salmon fishing on the Jupiter River with a naturalist guide.
Posted: If you decide to hike alone or with other members of your group, come to 15-minute information session given by our experienced guides before you head out. Your experience will be much more enriching.
Self-guided: Look for the information panels at the entrance to some trails. Take the time to read them; you'll find answers to most of your questions.

Schedule and length
Upon arrival in Port-Menier, we will give you a copy of the Parc national d'Anticosti newsletter, " En coulisses", including a full schedule of 2006 summer activities. For more details, go to the Parc national d'Anticosti web site.

2. Horseback Riding
Explore the tranquil Rivière Chicotte and the Rivière aux Plats area on horseback. Ride along kilometres of beach on the lookout for deer, seals, bald eagles and other wildlife. Guided trail rides offered.

3. Sea Kayaking
Experience Anticosti from a different perspective as you admire its shores, bays
and capes from the comfort of your kayak! Encounter seals, fin whales and porpoises in their natural environment. Excursions offered by Expédition Agaguk.

4. Day Fishing
