Wildlife management operations have regularly been carried out in Réserve faunique du Saint-Maurice. These efforts aim to restore a native trout population to certain lakes, notably through management of spawning grounds.
The forest of Réserve faunique du Saint-Maurice is harvested by the logging industry under timber supply and forest management agreements (CAAF) awarded by Québec's Department of Natural Resources and Wildlife. With a view to better harmonizing forestry practices with the activities offered in the reserve, Sépaq has initiated discussions with the industry so that measures will be applied to minimize resource use conflicts and impacts on the biodiversity, landscape and ambiance of these recreational activities.
A 42.6 km2 territory has been set aside as the Vallée-Tousignant protected area in Mékinak regional county municipality.
There should eventually be organic commercial blueberry growing in the Lac Soucis sector.
