From the standpoint of Québec's natural heritage, Réserve faunique de Port-Cartier-Sept-Îles is truly a jewel. This untamed land, which is little known, offers a fishing experience of exceptional quality. Due to the abundance of the resource, there is a catch and possession limit of 20 brook trout (speckled trout) per angler. Trout is indigenous here and the quality of its habitat promotes good species reproduction.
More than one hundred bodies of water and some fifteen rivers abounding with large speckled trout and wriggling salmon (Aux Rochers and MacDonald rivers) await sportfishers who want to test their skills against the whims of these lively salmonidae.
A stay in Réserve faunique de Port-Cartier-Sept-Îles will introduce you to a land of rolling landscapes and characterized by breathtaking scenery. The moving landscapes will make a lasting impression on you, one that you surely will want to share.

Wildlife and Other Developments
Spawning grounds have been set up to increase the reproductive potential of the brook trout. A few streams and rivers have undergone developments in cooperation with the Fondation de la faune du Québec.
The forest of Réserve faunique de Port-Cartier-Sept-Îles is exploited by the logging industry under Timber Supply and Forest Management Agreements awarded by the Ministère des Ressources naturelles de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec. The logging of mature forests ensures the regeneration of the forest and, over the medium term, provides a more abundant food source for several animal species as well as high-quality habitats.
