Fishing
Some 100 lakes are found in the two accommodations sectors, Lac Arthur and Lac Walker. Some of the lakes are available for day fishing. Fishing is managed by a plan determined in advance and approved by Ministère des Ressources naturelles, de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec.
New in 2008 :
It is now possible to reserve your day fishing activity 4 months in advance. For example, if you want to fish on June 24, you should reserve on February 24. Online reservations
and phone reservations start at 8:30 AM (1 800 665-6527). See Reservation Terms and Conditions and the 2008 Day Fishing brochure
to find out when the different bodies of water open for fishing.
On Aux Rochers and MacDonald rivers, enthusiasts can fish for Atlantic salmon. The Salmon Fishing with Accommodations Package can be reserved directly at the office of the wildlife reserve or through the Sépaq's Sale and Reservations Office. As for day fishing, it is the Association de protection de la Rivière-aux-Rochers that coordinates this activity.
Ice fishing is practised from December 1st until April 15th in Réserve faunique de Port-Cartier-Sept-Îles.
Catch and Possession Limit : 20 brook trout
However, some lakes have lower catch limits.
