It is mainly composed of fine sand streaked with red minerals that were carried in from Rivière Péribonka between 7,000 and 5,000 years ago. Discover the Park Through Interpretation

Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon has the potential to inspire wonder! The best way to explore the park is to participate in our discovery activities (in French only). Through the interpretation of natural and cultural heritage, you’ll learn more about the park and the importance of protecting it

Among the riches we hope to share is the wildlife of Pointe Taillon. There are countless signs of beavers and moose. Park wardens will guide your discoveries by illustrating the formation of this huge peninsula composed of fine, colourful sand.

To guide us in developing our discovery activities, all the parks have an education plan.


Discovery and Visitors Centre

During your time at the park, don’t miss a visit to the Discovery and Visitors Centre. Here, you’ll find the exhibition called Feet in the Water which presents the park and its natural riches. In the reception area, our employees will be pleased to help you plan your exploration of the park. Boutique Nature and the snack bar with terrace also offer a wide variety of products that will meet your expectations.

The long sandy beaches border shallow water that warms up quickly under the sun, ensuring pleasure and relaxation.
