Hiking

Hikes on the coast near a group of seals, hikes to the bottom of a canyon with giant walls, fascinating exploration of a cave, excursion in the boreal forest: at Parc national d'Anticosti, your footsteps are sure to lead you to rare sites at the heart of the island's wild and sumptuous setting. Sea Kayaking

As the traditional boat of the Inuit quickly and silently glides over the surface of the water, it will take you to the place where seals swim, murres nest and the waves of the Atlantic tirelessly break on the shore. Speechless with admiration, from your kayak you will discover the eternal beauty of the cliffs, bays and coves of Parc national d'Anticosti. Guided excursions are offered in the northern sector. Short excursion

The Rivière-à-la-Patate excursion, which lasts a few hours, is renowned for the observation of whales and birds.

Long Excursion

Three itineraries are offered. That of Caplan Bay will lead you to what is rightfully considered one of the nicest beaches on the island. You will see white-tailed deer browsing peacefully on the strips of algae left behind by the sea, a spectacle that is unique in the world. Marine birds and birds of prey are found in large numbers here. To the east of the mouth of Observation River rise up the limestone cliffs of Cap de l'Observation. A kayak allows you to get a close look at these towering natural monuments. At dusk, the guided tour of Cap de Pointe-Carleton gives you a front-row seat to witness a fabulous show of lights and sounds: the northern shore of Anticosti, baked in the warm colours of the sunset and the cries of sea birds.

Fishing

Do you think that you might enjoy spending a couple of hours fishing for brook trout in one of the rivers of Anticosti? Fishing by the day is offered to park visitors, subject to certain restrictions, as a complementary activity. There is a fishing quota and this activity depends on weather conditions. It should not be considered the main objective of your visit to the park, but will surely provide moments of pleasure.

Horseback Riding

Get in the saddle! Whether you are an experienced or novice rider, you can take part in an exceptional experience by visiting on horseback the coastal landscapes of Chicotte-la-Mer in the southern sector of the island. Guided excursions that last from 1 to 2 hours are available.
