Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are available at Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie. Since the access road is closed from December 1 to May 1, you must park at Auberge Le Relais des Hautes-Gorges and ski or snowshoe 15 km before arriving at the park.

The Traversée de Charlevoix, a 100 km trail that crosses Grands-Jardins and Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie national parks for short distances between backcountry mountains, offers one of the longest and most difficult ski courses in Québec. Six huts and six cabins are available along the trail.
