Rustic Shelter
The René Richard rustic shelter, Grands-Jardins’ little jewel, awaits you for a memorable stay. This building from another era was renovated in 1999 with care to preserve its old-fashioned charm and style. For many years it was reserved for the Norditude collection artists, but is now being offered to the general public. Open only in summer and fall, this 4-person shelter is set in a beautiful spot on the banks of Rivière Malbaie in the Lac Roche sector.

Hut
Two Scandinavian-style huts are accessible only to those who go hiking, cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Nature lovers should bring the equipment necessary to be completely autonomous (lighting and meal preparation). The huts are non-exclusive. During the day from 11 AM to 3 PM, park customers who practise certain activities are allowed to use them for rest.

Due to popular demand, the park team did some important renovations in the Arthabaska and La Roche campgrounds.
The number of campsites at Camping Arthabaska went from 25 to 15. The sites are now more private and further away from each other. La Roche campground underwent some spectacular modifications. The campground now has 23 primitive sites rather than 35 serviced sites. Isolation, a view of the lake and beautiful scenery are now on the agenda!
The campgrounds are presented in the form of a table indicating the services and activities offered near each one.
Please consult Reservation Terms and Conditions and the Operating Season.
Semi-Serviced Campgrounds
- Pied-des-Monts: This campground is much appreciated for its ease of access and proximity to the Mont du Lac-des-Cygnes trail. It has the advantage of accommodating all kinds of equipment. With the goal of improving the quality of the sites, a new section was created in 2007 designed to meet Sépaq’s highest quality standards.
- Arthabaska: This campground, pleasantly located inside the park near Lac Arthabaska, offers a unique setting. A forest fire greatly changed the scenery in 1991. Don’t miss our talk on forest fires to discover the riches of this natural phenomenon.
Primitive Campgrounds
- La Roche: Completely renovated in the fall of 2007, La Roche Campground now offers much more privacy. Most of the 23 primitive sites, built to meet national parks standards, are sheltered from prying eyes, and some have a view of the lake.
- Étang Malbaie : Magnificent, very private little sites. A short trail leads to the sites and Étang Malbaie, a pond that gives this spot its charm.
