Modification of the catch and keep limit (brook trout) and mandatory catch-and-release (arctic char)

Please note that the Ministère de l'Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec (MELCCFP) is reducing the catch and keep limit from 15 to 10 brook trout for fishing activities. This measure applies as of the 2024 season and is intended to protect brook trout populations. Find out more

The Environmental Indicators Monitoring Program at Parc national des Grands-Jardins

Since 2004, the Environmental Indicators Monitoring Program (EIMP) (see also the summary, in French only) has been implemented at Parc national des Grands-Jardins. A total of 23 indicators are monitored. Among them are the status of fish resources, the degree of jakes acidity, and Arctic char and the Common Nighthawk, two special-status species

After 10 years of field research, we are proud to present the first report on the evolution of the ecological integrity for Quebec’s National Parks.
