2008 Water Safety Prize
During the Water Safety Campaign organized by Conseil québécois du nautisme (CQN), which took place on May 17, 2008, Sépaq was awarded the 2008 Water Safety Prize for its contribution to the promotion of water safety in Québec.
Administrator of the Year
On the occasion of the Desjardins Recognition Gala, Haute-Gaspésie Chamber of Commerce, David Dubreuil, Director of Hotel Services for Gîte du Mont-Albert, was named administrator of the year.
In addition to participating in work for the Chic-Chocs Development Plan, Mr. Dubreuil used innovative management methods. With his creativity, he made Gîte du Mont-Albert a leader in the Gaspésie hotel milieu.
Award of Merit from Association québécoise de l’interprétation du patrimoine
Normand Blanchette, park warden-naturalist for Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier, received the 2007 award of merit. This prize recognizes the exceptional quality of activities that one person creates for Québec heritage interpretation.
Boomerang Prize Finalist
During the 13th edition of the Boomerang Awards, the contest that recognizes the best interactive communications and Web sites designed by Québec companies, the Web site for the advertising campaign, This Summer, Experience Québec’s National Parks, was named a finalist in the interactive marketing section in the promotional site category. Radio-Canada Names Scientist of the Year
Chloé Legris, engineer and project manager at ASTROLab in Mont-Mégantic, received the 2007 Scientist of the Year prize from Radio Canada.
Ms. Legris piloted a project creating the world’s first international Dark Sky Reserve in an inhabited area.
For five years, she participated in creating a 5500 km2 protected dark sky zone in the Mégantic region, where one of the largest observatories in Eastern North America is located. Last September, this achievement culminated in the reserve being recognized by UNESCO and the International Dark Sky Association.
Aventure Écotourisme Québec Award of Honour
Jean-François Dubé received the award of honour granted to a guide in recognition of his overall career.

Groupe Maritime Verrault Excellence Gala organized by the Matane region Chamber of Commerce recognized the Chic-Chocs Mountain Lodge in the tourism service category as a unique product in Eastern North America due to its degree of isolation, operating methods and mountainous nature.
