To hunt small game, you must have a small-game hunting licence and obtain your daily right of access pass online or at the reserve's Registration Centre. Most of the wildlife reserves offer seasonal right of access passes for small-game hunting. The bag limit is 5 birds (spruce grouse or ruffed grouse) per day and the possession limit is 15. For hares, the limit is 5 per day.
Waterfowl Hunting
You can hunt waterfowl in the wildlife reserves and in Sépaq Anticosti, provided you have a migratory game bird hunting permit and a small-game hunting licence.
You can obtain your small-game hunting right of access pass up until the end of 2012-2013 season.
How to Reserve
You can obtain your right of access pass on site or online.
Tips
Did you know that a non-certified adult can still try hunting? A resident who has never held a hunter's certificate can, during the same year and once in his/her lifetime, obtain any hunting license. This person must, however, be accompanied by a resident who is at least 25 years old and who holds the appropriate certificate for the weapon being used. To obtain this licence, call 1 866 4CHASSE or, in the Québec City area, 418 521-3905. Thanks to this measure, put in place by the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune, you can introduce young adults to hunting and share with them your passion for the sport and your know-how.
You will probably have to drive on gravel roads.
Certain sites may be far from amenities such as supermarkets and gas stations.
